Fire Stick Remote Not Working
The Amazon Fire TV and remote control are simple and helpful. Of course they are made cheaply but are sturdy enough for everyday use and do the job perfectly.
I have mine for years and apart from a few problems with the remote, she has never let me down. In this guide, you’ll learn how to fix the Fire Stick remote when it stops working.
The dongle seems to be rock hard, as long as you do not do anything with it. The few problems I had and the others heard about the remote control. Lose the pairing, do not react or just refuse to work at all.
The Fire Stick and other Fire TV sets use remote controls that are a little different from most other remote controls. Because these remotes are different from the ones you’re used to, finding out why your Fire Stick remote suddenly stops working can be difficult.
WHAT CAUSES FIRE STICK REMOTE NOT WORKING
The most likely reason of your Fire TV remote not working is its batteries. I know, you think I’ve changed the batteries twice already. The Fire TV Remote is a whimsical animal and just likes brand new, fully charged batteries before it’s reconnected to your Fire TV box.
I tried to turn on the batteries of other devices, all of which work well, but to no avail. Brand new batteries are the key to this power-hungry remote.
This need for new batteries seems to be particularly important if your Fire TV box is next to a complicated TV setup with AV, speakers and Wi-Fi routers.
If you are using the brand new batteries and they still won’t work, there may be the same problem I had below. Do not forget to ask questions that you may have in the comments section of this article.
If you feel your Fire TV Voice Remote is suddenly disconnected, I know how you feel. Since October 2014 I own a Fire TV and so far he has processed everything I threw on it.
HOW TO FIX FIRE STICK REMOTE ISSUE
I did a bunch of different fixes to get it working again, but then I finally had a brainwave and was able to bring the remote back to life. I found this solution not by browsing internet blogs and YouTube videos, but by checking the remote control more closely.
No, it was not Amazon’s fault to build inferior products but my own fault and partly the fault of cheap pound stores lying around in the UK.
When I took the battery compartment off the Fire TV remote, it looked quite normal. Only when I raised the remote control at eye level, I noticed that there were slight lime residues on the terminals of the battery compartment.
Then it dawned on me as I looked at a packet of cheap store batteries. One of the cheap batteries had leaked battery acid on the Fire TV remote control ports, preventing the power from getting through.
How do I use Fire TV if the remote does not turn on?
Fortunately, Amazon has an app for Amazon Fire TV Remote, which is also available on the Android App Store and the Apple App Store. You can then control the Fire TV from the app and proceed to the next step. Also, know how does fire stick work by contacting us.

This shows you which devices are currently paired and from here you can see if your remote connects. In my case, when I play around with the batteries, my remote appears here for a few minutes and then disappears.

The solution
I took a flat-head screwdriver and gently scratched the connectors on the remote at each end. Wipe off the residue with a dry cloth while I scratched. The plug should look shiny and new at the end of this process. I put the batteries back in and immediately reconnected the remote.
I have not had any problems with the remote since then, and I think the moral of the story is that sometimes you get what you pay for … this time absolutely leaking batteries.

Final Fire TV Remote not synced tip
Some users have commented that interfering from their router’s Wi-Fi channel was causing the problem. To change that, you need to be a little technical, but it’s not difficult.
Log in to your router (device details). Find the Wi-Fi channel and switch to another channel. Google Play’s Wi-Fi Analyzer lets you see the least-used channel for your home.
